Academic Theme
Theme for the 2026-2027 Academic Year
Each year, the ODU community explores one of the four themes of our Core Curriculum, which include:
- What Does it Mean to be Human?
- What is the Common Good?
- What is Justice?
- What Truths have we Learned?
The theme for the 2026-27 academic year is "What is Justice?"
Contemplation of this theme will begin with ODU’s opening convocation as we welcome ODU alumnus Aaron Dennis, Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, and continue throughout the academic year.
ODU's Office of Academic Affairs and the Center for Dominican Studies will also host talks and lectures to provide opportunities for the community to engage in conversation.
