Project Management

ODU's Project Management Exam Prep will prepare you to take and pass the Project Management Professional exam or the Certified Associate in Project Management exam. Expand your professional skills and become proficient in integration management, time and cost management, human resources management and more.

 

Two Paths to Choose From

Whether you’re new to the project management field or a seasoned professional, are looking for a for-credit option or a non-credit program, we have a path that fits your needs.

  • Primarily for those who have a background in managing people and projects
  • Not for credit (may qualify for employers' professional development programs)
  • Exam prep course meets on campus or online from 6 - 9 p.m.on Tuesdays
  • Cost: $1,300

  • Primarily for those who seek instruction in project management in addition to exam prep
  • Foundation Path students complete two components:
    1. First, complete the BUS-303: Project Management three-credit course, which is an eight-week course offered in the first half of each semester (may qualify for employers' tuition reimbursement)
    2. Second, complete the not-for-credit exam prep course, which meets on campus or online from 6 - 9 p.m. on Tuesdays for nine weeks in the second half of the semester (may qualify for employers' professional development programs)
  • Cost: $1,965

  • Project Management three-credit online course: Aug. 14 – Oct. 9, 2023
  • Exam prep on campus or online meetings, 6 – 9 p.m., Tuesdays: Oct. 17 – Dec. 12, 2023

Spring Semester

  • Project Management three-credit online course: Jan. 8 – March 2, 2024
  • Exam prep on campus or online meetings, 6 – 9 p.m., Tuesdays: March 12 – May 7, 2024

 

Our Guarantee to You

ODU guarantees that you’ll pass the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam if you take the exam within 120 days of completing the program, or you can participate in the program a second time free of charge.

Project Management Payment Policy

The deposit is due at the time of registration. Deposits are nonrefundable.

Full payment for the Project Management Exam Prep is due one week prior to the course start date. Payment or tuition assistance arrangements must be set in place by this date. 

The refund policy follows that of the Adult & Continuing Education Program. If participant attends zero class sessions, there is a 100% refund. If first class is attended by participant, 80% is refunded, and 0% if second class is attended. Refunds on full payments do NOT include the deposit amount. 

To take this exam, you must meet these requirements:

  • A secondary degree, including a high school diploma, associate degree or global equivalent
  • At least five years of project management experience
  • At least 7,500 hours of leading and directing projects

OR   

  • A four-year degree, including a bachelor’s degree or global equivalent
  • At least three years of project management experience
  • At least 4,500 hours of leading and directing projects

To take this exam, you must meet these requirements:

  • A high school diploma or global equivalent
  • At least 1,500 hours of project management experience

OR   

  • At leat 23 hours of project management education
