IRMA was created to provide students with a positive experience to gain the proper perspective in the insurance industry. Moreover, IRMA will allow students to discover a passion for the values and opportunities that are available in this field. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the insurance industry is projected to grow by 2.8% from 2022 to 2032, adding approximately 4.7 million new jobs across various sectors. This growth is reflected in Ohio’s strong insurance industry, which employs over 115,000 people, according to the Ohio Insurance Institute, and continues to expand. With more than 275 insurance companies headquartered in the state, Ohio businesses have access to essential coverage that supports economic growth, innovation, and long-term stability. Ohio Dominican University, in partnership with Encova Insurance and Secured Advantage, has revamped the Insurance & Risk Management Academy (IRMA) to offer a more focused, hands-on experience for students pursuing careers in the insurance industry.
