Information to Help Your Students
International applicants often encounter the US education system for the first time during the admission process, making the guidance of their school counselor vital to their success. We appreciate the important role you play as your students transition to university! Our goal is to provide a space for you to connect with Ohio Dominican University and have quick access to information that will help you and your students.
Academics
We offer more than 30 undergraduate degree programs* and plenty of opportunities for students to connect their passion with a purpose. Among international students at ODU, some of our most popular majors are Biology, Business Administration, Computer Science and Sport Management.

Honors Program
- Application Deadline for Fall 2024 admission: January 2024
- Students with exceptional academic records encouraged to apply
- Full-tuition scholarships are available!
4+1 Programs
- Earn a Bachelor’s Degree in any major and a Master of Business Administration in only one additional year of study.
3+2 Program – Engineering
- Study for 3 years toward a Bachelor degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Computer Science at Ohio Dominican
- Study for 2 years toward a Master of Engineering at University of Dayton
3+2 Program – Law
- Study for 3 years toward a Bachelor degree in Political Science, English, Philosophy or Mathematics at Ohio Dominican
- Choose between a 2 or 3 year course of study in Law (Juris Doctor) at University of Dayton
* Please note, international applicants are not eligible for the Medical School Early Assurance Program or the Pre-Nursing program due to the visa sponsorship limitations of our partner institutions.
Admission
Academic Requirements
- Secondary school transcripts
- Predicted or reported marks for secondary school leaving examination, if applicable
- Lower secondary exam results, if applicable
- Third-party evaluation is not required; ODU evaluates all foreign transcripts using conversation scales provided by AACRAO Edge
- SAT/ACT not required for international applicants
English Proficiency Requirement
- TOEFL 70+ / IELTS 6.0+ / SAT ER&W 500+ / Duolingo English Test
- Waived for graduates of an English-medium secondary school
Deadlines and Material Submission
- ODU has a rolling admission process, however we recommend that students apply at least 4 months before their desired start date.
- Applicants may submit materials to their admission counselor via email or via the “Material Submission” form linked to above.
- School counselors may email official transcript to international@ohiodominican.edu or submit them via post, Naviance/Parchment.
Admission Decisions
- Our turn-around time is QUICK! As soon as we receive all admission materials, students can expect to hear back in 2-4 business days.
- We notify international applicants via email.

Cost of Attendance
International students must demonstrate their ability to meet their education costs and living expenses when applying for a student visa.

**First year on-campus housing is FREE with the Global Connections Grant. After the
first year, students are responsible for the cost of housing at a discounted rate
through our International Student Grant.
Scholarship Opportunities
Global Connections Grant
All first year international students receive one year of free on-campus housing
ODU Scholarships
Admitted international students receive ODU scholarships packages ranging from $13,000-15,000/year.
Work Study
All international undergraduates receive a $2,000/year work-study award to facilitate on-campus job opportunities
Stackable Awards
Additional awards of $1,000-2,000/year for students that meet additional qualifications. Some examples include:
