Outcomes & Careers

ODU Psychology graduates are prepared to enter the workforce in a number of fields, including social services, education and business. 

Graduates may also continue their studies at the graduate level, either in Psychology or a related area, to pursue careers in clinical, education, hospital, social service or other setting.

 
Students in ODU’s Psychology program will develop:
  • Knowledge of the scientific nature of psychology and of the scientific method as it is used in psychology.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to use experimental methods and basic statistics.
  • An appreciation of the psychological dimension of human experience and the dignity of the person.
  • An appreciation of the ethical obligations of psychologists.
