Integrated Science Education Outcomes & Careers
Graduates of ODU's Integrated Science Education program are prepared to teach chemistry
in grades 7-12 or continue on to graduate or professional school.
Students in ODU's Integrated Science Education program complete a rigorous curriculum
in both education and the sciences that emphasizes not only content knowledge but
also critical thinking and laboratory skills.
Many Chemistry Education graduates go on to professional school to become a physician, pharmacist, veterinarian, optometrist, podiatrist, etc.
The three science education licensures, Chemistry Education, Life Science Education and Integrated Science Education include a common core of science courses and an emphasis on pedagogical techniques.
The three licensures are designed so a student may move from one teaching major to another with ease.
