Ohio Dominican University (ODU) Campus Ministry student organization Salt & Light announces its 1st Annual 5K for $5K on Saturday, April 20, with a goal to raise $5,000 for the Run the Race Center, to help provide summer camp experiences in coding, art and science for Columbus-area youth.
The 5K will be held on the ODU campus, located at 1216 Sunbury Road, and is open to the public. The cost to participate is $25 for general registration and $10 for ODU students. Salt & Light will be giving away free “5K for $5K” T-shirts to everyone who registers.
Registration is now open at ohiodominican.edu/5K.
Race packets will be available to be picked up between 3-5 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at the Info Desk in the Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center, and between 8-9:30 a.m. during event check-in on the morning of the 5K.
The 5K will officially begin at 10 a.m.
Prior to the 5K run/walk getting underway, ODU’s mascot Thunder will lead a “Kid Dash” for children 12 & under, beginning at 9:45 a.m. The “Kid Dash” event is free, but youth-size “5K for 5K” T-shirts will be available to purchase during registration for an additional $5 each.
The Run the Race Center is a program of The Brian Muha Foundation, an Ohio organization that provides enrichment and leadership development opportunities to young people. Additional proceeds from the event will help Salt & Light fund retreats and service trip opportunities for ODU students.
