Ohio Dominican University is committed to promoting peace, justice and the formation of thoughtful, ethical, and effective leaders. As part of this mission, the University is proud to highlight organizations that embody these values.

On Sept. 13 at 7 p.m., ODU will welcome Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, founder and CEO of Mary’s Meals, for a special presentation in the Matesich Theatre in Erskine Hall. The evening will feature the premiere of On the Frontlines of Hunger, Mary’s Meals’ newest documentary, followed by a Q&A with MacFarlane-Barrow and light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

For more than two decades, Mary’s Meals has pursued what it calls “a simple yet transformative idea”: feed children where they learn. The global school-feeding charity provides one daily meal in educational settings, ensuring children not only receive nourishment but also the opportunity to pursue an education. Operating in 16 countries, Mary’s Meals now reaches more than 3 million children every school day, offering a pathway out of chronic poverty for them and future generations. Remarkably, it costs just $25.20 to feed a child for an entire school year.

MacFarlane-Barrow is an internationally recognized humanitarian who has spoken at the Vatican and around the world about eradicating child hunger. His visit to Ohio Dominican promises to be an inspiring evening of storytelling, hope, and action.
