Ohio Dominican University (ODU)’s annual 24-hour giving event is back! Last year, our donors' generosity changed countless lives – and this year we're aiming even higher! “Blaze Black and Gold: 24 Hours of Giving” will kick off at noon on Thursday, April 18, with a goal to raise $100,000 to provide scholarships, program enhancements and more.
During this special 24-hour fundraising event, alumni, friends of ODU, Panther families and the entire ODU community are invited to make a gift at ohiodominican.edu/blazeblackandgold to create opportunities for current and future generations of ODU students!
“Your gift, big or small, helps our university community thrive,” said Christie Flood Weiner, ODU alumna and acting vice president for Advancement and Alumni Relations. “One of the greatest joys for me is seeing the tangible impact that our donors’ gifts have on our Panthers.”
This year’s giving event coincides with our annual celebration of St. Catherine of Siena. Her powerful words, “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire,” resonate at the heart of who we are and what we do and inspired the selection of this year’s theme.
“As a Catholic university founded by the Dominican Sisters of Peace, ‘Blaze Black and Gold’ encapsulates the very essence of our mission,” said Weiner. “As members of the ODU family, we are all called to be agents of positive change, illuminating the path before us through the transformative power of education and service. Together, we embody the ODU spirit, preparing to set the world on fire."
