Natalie Kompa has taught Public Relations courses at Ohio Dominican since 2002. She’s
created several Public Relations and Marketing Communications courses for both colleges,
including two focusing on Public Relations using new technologies.
Professor Kompa has enjoyed an exciting career in Public Relations, serving companies
in executive PR management roles. She was a manager in the Public Affairs department
for Borden, Inc. (a Fortune 100 manufacturing company), traveling around the world
to support the company’s employee communications programs.
She’s also led the Public Relations function for a major service company as Vice President
of Public Relations for Huntington Bancshares, Inc. While at the bank holding company,
she spearheaded the public relations campaign for a national banking technology roll-out
as well as managing a team of PR professionals and serving as the corporate spokesperson.
Kompa formed her own consulting business in 1997, working with mid-to- large-size
companies on enhancing their visibility. Kompa is often asked to speak on PR effectiveness
and the future of Public Relations and the Internet.
She belongs to numerous professional associations including Public Relations Society
of America and currently volunteers with the Central Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation and Boy Scouts of America.
