Emily Post, a physiologist, is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. She earned
her B.S. at Ohio Dominican University in Exercise Science with a minor in Biology.
She earned her M.S. from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville (UTK) in Kinesiology,
Recreation, and Sport Studies with a specialization in exercise physiology. She worked
primarily in the pediatric and special populations exercise physiology laboratory
while at UTK. She also lead the general public body composition, aerobic, and anaerobic
testing and many public health initiatives at UTK. Emily earned her PhD at The Ohio
State University in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Neuroscience. Much of her
time spent at OSU was working with special populations and the military, working through
neuromuscular and cognitive impacts of exercise.
Emily joined Ohio Dominican University as an adjunct in 2018 and full time faculty
in 2019. Emily has co-authored original research articles in exercise physiology,
biochemistry, sports performance, supplementation, military, and recovery. Her research
has additionally expanded to special populations, i.e. impact of exercise on individuals
with Down syndrome.
Emily is active in professional organizations and continues to present her research
yearly at both national and regional meetings. She is also highly active in the Down
Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO) and their wellness initiatives.
Emily loves mentoring and teaching students. Her primary teaching interests involve
physiology, exercise physiology, human anatomy, exercise prescription, and bioenergetics.
