Chris earned his bachelor's degree in History from Capital University in 2009 and
then pursued graduate studies at Bowling Green State University where he earned his
master's degree in History with a minor in World History in 2013. His master's thesis
focused on the presidency of James K. Polk and the fundamental role he played shaping
domestic and foreign policy in the U.S. during the 1840s.
Chris began teaching courses in U.S. History and Western Civilization at Edison State
Community College located in Piqua, Ohio in 2013. In 2015, he taught primarily online
history courses for the institution. In 2016, he joined Ohio Dominican University
as an adjunct where he taught mainly U.S. History courses. In the summer of 2021,
he was hired full-time here at ODU. He has taught various courses in U.S. History,
World History, and the World Wars.
His current research interests focus on the American Presidency and U.S. foreign policy
during the 19th and 20th-centuries. A member of the Ohio Academy of History (OAH),
he has presented numerous papers on historical topics from presidential elections
to U.S. foreign policy.
