Ohio Dominican University Hosts Benefit Dinner for Hatian Relief

Ohio Dominican University’s International Office will host a public benefit dinner to raise awareness and funds for the Catholic Relief Services’ Haitian relief efforts. There is a minimum cash donation of $10. ODU Haitian international student Jean Desmornes will be one of the speakers at the dinner. He is studying business administration.

WHEN:  RESCHEDULED  Monday, February 15, 2010, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: The Colonial Room, Sansbury Hall, located on ODU’s main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43219

BACKGROUND: Tickets can be purchased by calling ODU’s International Office (614-251-4646) or Campus Ministry (614-251-4567), or by visiting their offices, located on the second floor of the Griffin Student Center. 

A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door on the day of the event. As of February 1, more than 40 people have registered.

In addition to a menu of popular Haitian dishes, the event will feature a silent auction of cakes donated by ODU community members, and terra cotta pots painted using ancient Greek compositions and techniques by ODU art students.
