Jim Hammonds is a veteran in the health care industry with more than 30 years of experience in managing physician practices in various settings. He was the chief executive officers of an orthopedic practice of 25 physicians. Hammonds expanded the practice by recruiting additional physicians and adding ancillary services. Hammonds was director of Physician Services with a hospital system in Kentucky. He helped establish a 60-physician "foundation model" group practice. As Administrator of a rheumatology-based practice in Central Ohio, Hammonds guided the group through a computer change and a 100-percent building expansion. His first health care position was as chief operating officer of a 100-physician, multi-specialty group.
Hammonds completed his undergraduate work at the U.S. Naval Academy and Western Kentucky University. He also has a master of science degree in Economics from Western Kentucky. Hammonds is a long-time member of Medical Group Management Association and has achieved fellow status in that organization.
His hobbies include hiking, reading, travel and photography.
Hammonds resides in Westerville, Ohio, with his wife, Carolyn. They have two children, Eric and Angie.
