Mission
Ohio Dominican University’s Mathematics major instills in students a deeper understanding and appreciation of the nature of mathematics as well as of the application of mathematical ideas to real-world problems. It prepares students for continuing study in graduate school or, when combined with an appropriate minor, for careers in business, government, or information technology. Ohio Dominican’s Mathematics majors will develop the skills and conceptual understanding necessary to analyze quantitative situations, solve nontrivial problems, and communicate mathematical ideas. In this way, the mathematics major provides students with a solid foundation for future learning and for the sharing of their discoveries with others.
