The ODU Biology program features a three-semester General Biology series that gives students an in-depth introductory study of 1; Cells, Genetics, and Evolution, 2; Botany, Zoology, and Ecology, and 3; Anatomy and Physiology.
Microbiology students develop the laboratory skills necessary to identify unknown bacteria.
Genetics students use the cutting-edge technology of DNA isolation and PCR genotyping as they analyze their own DNA.
Ecology students participate in field studies of animal populations, including licensed mist-netting in the analysis of local songbird populations.
Students with interests in the health care field are especially fortunate to have the opportunity to learn human anatomy in our new human cadaver laboratory facilities.
