Computer Information Systems The Computer Information Systems major is designed to give students a solid foundation in computer programming concepts, networks, database systems and analysis of information technology. Knowledge gained from this study prepares students for a variety of career paths including software engineering, systems development, web development, technology management, teaching, robotics and graduate studies. Students complete their major by specializing in an area of their choice; by choosing a concentration and associated electives, students create a major that reflects their intellectual and vocational interests.
Environmental Science At Ohio Dominican University, students will gain a strong basis in the environmental nature of biological and chemical sciences while experiencing the integration of other disciplines. Through scientific endeavors students will refine perspectives on environmental challenges at local to global scales.
Exercise Science Exercise Science is intended to provide students with an in-depth study of the physiological bases of human physical performance. Students will also have the opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor to design and complete an independent research project during their senior year. In addition, students who wish to prepare for a professional career have the opportunity to gain real-world experience by completing an internship in an area of their choosing. Upon graduation, those who have chosen this field of study may pursue multiple areas including graduate training in exercise physiology, an allied health field such as physical therapy, or medical school. Others wishing to begin a career immediately upon graduation are employed in fitness and wellness centers, corporate fitness, or may work as personal trainers.
Integrated Mathematics Education Students majoring in Integrated Mathematics receive a solid foundation in mathematics with courses ranging from the calculus sequence to mathematical statistics and abstract algebra. Advanced courses in linear algebra and geometry as well as a mathematics teaching methods course fill out the mathematics requirement. Students also will take a variety of education courses covering education psychology, content area, as well as student teaching and principles of education. This major is designed to prepare students for a teaching career at the secondary school level and leads to licensure.

Mathematics Students majoring in Mathematics receive a solid foundation in mathematics with courses ranging from the calculus sequence to foundations in mathematics, as well as linear and abstract algebra and calculus-based physics. Students choose from a selection of courses including mathematical statistics, differential equations, real and complex analysis, geometry, and physics to complete major requirements. This major is designed to prepare students for careers in industry, government or for additional study in graduate school.
Physician Assistant Program To meet the ever-increasing need for Physician Assistants, Ohio Dominican University is introducing the only Physician Assistant Studies program in Central Ohio and the newest PA program in the Midwest. Between 2008 and 2018, job opportunities for PAs will increase by 39%. ODU’s program is tailored to meet the career demand and reflects the University’s century of educational excellence.
Pre-Health Professional (Pre Med, Vet, Pharm) Ohio Dominican University has a long history of preparing students to enter the medical professions. The path that students take at ODU is shaped by their future goals. Each gives students both the intellectual tools and practical skills to pursue lifelong learning required by their chosen profession. The use of contemporary technological tools in the pursuit of truth is a part of this process.
Pre-Nursing ODU and Mount Carmel College of Nursing have jointly developed a pre-nursing program where a limited number of eligible ODU students will be accepted annually into the Mount Carmel program. Students complete their general education classes at ODU and can live on our campus and then complete their final five semesters of nursing courses on the campus of Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Those students who successfully complete the nursing requirements will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Carmel.
